Taxi drivers have the responsibility to drive their passengers safely to their destination. So, whenever you take a job as a taxi driver, you must always drive in a highly responsible manner strictly following all the road regulations. Stay fit-Physically and mentally

Professional driving is very challenging so staying fit physically and mentally is very crucial. Eating, drinking and exercising in a healthy way will help to stay fit. Also, remember not to take any drugs or alcohol before and during driving as it can impair your driving skills.

Ensure everything is in working order

Before you drive, make sure the taxi is in good working condition. Always check brakes, tires, mirrors, windows, coolant, oil, wipers, lights, taxi meter, radio, and emergency equipments to be on the safe side.

Don’t drive if you feel drowsy

It is natural to feel drowsy sometimes when you are driving. When you feel drowsy, stop your taxi immediately and get some rest. After you get enough rest, you should continue driving.

Identify the best direction

When you are driving your passengers, they expect good knowledge about the area you usually operate in. Thus, display your professionalism by informing them about the longer or shorter routes that you can take.

Have all the documents

You must have technical inspection certificate and insurance documents. And also, activate your taximeter, select tariff rate, and prepare your invoice to fill out.

Check your passengers’ safety

When you are in the driver’s seat, check to make sure that your passengers are comfortably seated. You should also show your courtesy by helping your passengers with their luggage while getting into and out of the vehicle.

Be alert

When you are picking up your passengers at night, be extra careful. Look and inspect carefully before you let them in your taxi because it concerns you and your vehicle’s safety.

Ask for emergency assistance

Sometimes when there is a breakdown or accident, you should make sure to inform your local emergency services immediately to get help.
