If I were to describe the perfect laptop, it would be “fast, stylish, powerful, has a long battery life, lots of storage, super portable and affordable”. Well the new Asus UL30A-X5 is all that and much more. Most computer users would do fine with the functionality of a netbook. Think of this new Asus model as a netbook on steroids. It has a powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a large 500GB hard drive, a full-sized keyboard, 4GB of RAM, a HD display and a long battery life (up to 12 hours on one charge).
Despite being an extremely functional laptop, the Asus UL30A-X5 is also extremely stylish. I especially love the black model. Instead of having the usual glossy black casing, this laptop has a sleek brushed metal surface that makes it look really expensive and exclusive. It is also extremely thin and light, measuring just 0.98 inches in thickness and 3.74 pounds in weight. They keyboard has ‘chicklet’ style keys that looks really good and feels very comfortable to type on.
Besides having a LED back-lit (1366 x 768 resolution) HD screen, the Asus UL30A-X5 laptop also comes with Altec Lansing speakers with SRS Premium Sound technology. Coupled with a HDMI port, this laptop model would serve well as a mini entertainment center. One of the common problems with laptops today is that they run hot easily, especially for users like me who often use the laptop for prolonged periods of time. Because of that, I really appreciate the Asus IceCool feature on this laptop model that keeps the palm rest cool even after hours and hours of use. Most importantly, the Asus UL30A-X5 13.3-inch laptop is easy on the pocket. Currently, this laptop model retails for just around $699 each. Talk about a bargain!
